I'm intrigued by the fact Bluey is popular with Emma. I'm from Australia and it's crazy how much its taken off on an international scale! It's a perfect mix of light-hearted and educational/mature life lessons and I think because it doesn't 'dumb down' to the point its for little kids, its actually enjoyable for all viewers. It also seems pretty authentic to Australian culture in my opinion. ( I'll admit that even I get a genuine laugh watching it even though I'm a young adult with no children)
I love this gift idea guide!! My husband and I are terrible with buying gifts but the Want Need Wear Read idea will be perfect to keep us on track when our baby girl is here!
Less is always more. Kids are happier with less and don’t feel overwhelmed. We learned the hard way and have gotten rid of $1000s of toys! My son was happier when all he had was a take and play train set. But we got him the big train table with all the wooden tracks. He didn’t play with it. And the same for so much other stuff! He’s 11 now. Our 9 yr old daughter had the big doll house for barbies and traded it for a smaller one about 12/14” high that folds up really small! They have had a big time today taking some of their toys and other things and wrapping them up for their “babies” who are their stuffed animals. They don’t play with dolls. They put all the gifts under the tree. That kept them busy for hours. When we got our new H&A system this past spring they loved the big boxes. The installers actually attached 2 boxes for them and cut doors for them. They love stuff like that. Kids are easy if we don’t make it complicated and buy them everything we thought we wanted as a kid and didn’t get. Lol!
I love your choices! I added share into the want, need, wear, read so we get something that all the family or at least all the children can use together like a game or outside play equipment.
Those gifts are sooo cute! You found great bargains. Love the dinosaurs for the boys( always my 3 boys' favorite!) And that baby crib and stroller set for Emma is beyond precious! It looks so sturdy, too! So very sweet that Emma picked Faye's gift from Santa!🎅 She is such a sweet big sister. Hugs to you, Rachelle!❤️🎄❤️
I love that you guys don't go overboard like some vloggers. Kids don't know the value of things so if what they need happens to cost $5 then that is just a win win all round!
We are doing want need wear read too! My kids are the same ages as the twins and Faye and I got them similar things as you did! I love this method because they already have so many toys and with this they are getting one toy plus one from Santa and the rest of it is usually really useful.
Yes to intentional gifts! It can quickly get overwhelming for them 😊 Love that craft items are a “need”. I can get behind that! Plus, consumable gifts are some of the best when you want to stay minimal!🎄
want, need, wear, read 👏🏼👏🏼 I’ve been doing this idea for a couple years, not only can the child focus more on fewer gifts, but it makes buying for each individual child a lot more intentional
I always go overboard on my nephew lol. I should have done that, but when you have 4 adults in one house buying for a 4 year old, that would be 4 wants, 4 wear, 4 Need and 4 read. I always get him clothes, jammies, toys and books. Just from me, then there is his grandma, and parents that buy for him also.
Growing up every Christmas we got maybe one big present or toy and then we would wait till the day after Christmas to go shopping for clothes because we could get more clothes for our money because they always have sales to get rid of Christmas merchandise. Our mother had us four children, so I had an older brother and then my older sister and then my twin sister and I were born 10 years after our older sister. She took care of all four of us by herself. Her first husband was killed in a car accident and he was the father of my older brother and sister. My twin sister and I father left us when we were very young. So we had to be careful with everything and save for new jackets for all four of us. Jackets were bought a year ahead after Christmas for the following year. Everything was bought like this. It helped so much.
My kids are all adults now but I wish this was around when they were little. Next year I might implement a version of this for Christmas for all the adults (I’ve already finished my shopping for this year). Love everything you got for the kids and the reasons why.
I started a version a couple of years ago for my adult kids and grandkids. What I buy has to fit in a stocking but I get 1 something to wear 2 something to eat 3 something to do 4 a body product 5 something to have fun with Finding it all to fit a stocking is a challenge but can be done. I used to go overboard with my kids but have cut back as there is no need or pressure to give them everything they want. A heart of gratitude is more important
I so so appreciate you saying you’ll see what Santa brings on Christmas Eve. I never watch these kind of videos in front of my kiddos for fear of that. ❤ very considerate.
I love the want, need, wear, read idea. I’ve been thinking about trying it also. Maybe we can next year since I’ve already finished my shopping. Didn’t quite stick to the 4 gifts but still stayed in a great budget limit because Facebook marketplace had a ton of great deals on some wishlist items! ❤
I LOVED this vlog!!! I feel like you’re a youtuber that is realistic and doesn’t spend $100’s of dollars for Christmas😂 you also shop like I do in the way that if it’s on sale there is no question. I’m buying it😂 I love to spoil my nieces and nephews but on a budget of couse
💝🎄 Hi Rachelle, the Xmas gifts you got for Emma 🖍🗒🥾🥾 Reuben🦖🖍🗒 👟 Asher🦖🖍🗒👟 Faye 🧦🧦🧦 are absolutely perfext xmas gifts. I love you always put alot thought when you giving gifts. You and Justin are fantastic parents. I found your channel a few month ago when you were putting away Brynn's nursey and I was hooked from that moment on. Absolutely love Pepper 🐶and Mister 🐈⬛ and not forgetting gourgous Beau Beau 🐶 Love to you and Justin and all your family. God Bless
Same here, I love the kids and the pets to. Definitely one of the few TH-clips channels that I come back to regularly along with a few other channels ❤.
I don't have kids but there are 7 kids in our family under the age of 15. My cousin has 5 kids, brother has 1, and my aunt has 1. I'm doing something you can wear, something you can eat, something you can see, and something for fun.
It is So SWEET that Emma told Santa what to give her baby sister! You seem to have a perfect plan for Christmas with 4 children! I wish you all The Best Christmas ever! Good bless y'all PS what did you get Pepper n Mister?!❤🤗🙏🏻🐾
Finally a more sensible what I got my kid for Christmas, Some of these videos I wonder where people actually put the stuff after Christmas or if it gets used. That doll stuff is adorable.
I love your hair!!! I’m having a hard time deciding what to get my daughter for Christmas! She’ll be a little over a month old, so I know she won’t really care. But it’s hard.
I think if I were to ever do that then I would give them their need, wear, read on Christmas Eve to make getting ready for Santa more fun and do their wants on Christmas morning.
This was so nice to do education things books, arts crafts. Rachelle you have Always be so good creativity with Emma and now the twins. Those crib, stroller are way cute. I picture her being so excited. You can get a pillow on Amazon and a blanket for the doll. Reusable. I think a American doll for Emma that looks like her would be nice. Those are in. Love all the boys gifts too. Faye got cute stuff. It's perfect what you give very special. Happy Holidays to your family. 🎄❄️⛄️
Love your idea for gifts. It's so important to not go overboard with gifts. Christmas should not be all about presents and stuff. I admire you so much.
I LOVE getting categories fir gifts. I have 4 kids ages 3, 7,10 and 11 and I always get an active gift and musical gift. It is nice to be organized so you know all the kids have equal gifts😀
We do the same thing for our kids. For years we would spend way to much on Christmas. Now it’s more meaningful and budget friendly. We have even went down to Santa only bringing one gift instead of 5+.
Super sweet. I have 3 boys. We are doing this gift idea this year but two in each category and then a family gift, which is a board game and archade passes. It gives plenty to open but not so much that it’s overwhelming.
Not a fan of read want wear. I get my kids presents and toys once a year. Christmas. I don’t want items myself. I just want the kids to unwrap presents. Not even pull out of a bag. I wrap and asked Santa to wrap. We buy toys and when kids are done if they last we sell if have parts and such. Makes holidays fun. Gets kids off tablets. Etc
Yes yes yes this is what my mom does for the grandkids. For birthdays and for Christmas. Something you want something you need something to wear and something to read.
Mine get 3, 1 big gift from St. Nick and Stocking and 2 under the tree. We have 6 and a Son in Law and a Daughter in law. Then everyone gets PJs with their 🎅 gift..it is always perfect
When I was growing up we usually got 3 gifts. We got our one “big gift” whatever it was we had been wanting for a long time. Then Mama usually surprised us with 2 smaller gifts. We didn’t get gifts from extended family except from my Grandpa, Aunt and Uncle. They would get us each a gift together from the 3 of them. There were 4 of us and one year they got us one gift for the 4 of us; an electric toothbrush with 4 toothbrushes. This was back in the 70s when stuff was different. But we thought we were uptown getting an electric toothbrush! We were always happy with what we got for Christmas. Because we didn’t get so much I can remember what I got almost every year from the time I was 6. I still have my doll I got that year and I’m 63 now! She is in a chair in my bedroom. Simple is better
We did want need wear read and share. And of course a couple of small things and candy for the stockings. This plan has kept me from when I’m walking thru the store just randomly picking up stuff that looks oh so cute or fun that I’m reality they will never play with. For my 11 yr old son: Want: a little water Fountain he saw in Hobby Lobby for his dresser Need: a new basketball and goal so he won’t sneak next door to play when they aren’t home and their cameras won’t be going off. Lol! Wear: a boys nightgown and nightcap he’s been asking for for a couple of years Read: set of Hardy Boys mysteries. My 9 yr old daughter Want: some kind of dog you unbox. When she asked for it several months ago I actually got it on sale for $20 Need: a Pearl necklace. Every girl needs pearls like their mommy wears! Wear: a Frozen nightgown she wanted and I kept making excuses to not get her so it could be for Christmas Read; Anne of Green Gables set And to Share: a Toss Across game. Then we each got them a gift from us. Their stockings will have a kaleidoscope and some candy. I did much better this year since trying to become a minimalist.
If you go into target you can fine a little trampoline for in the house and I bought one for my kids and it was only $15 and it was on a really good deal until December 15

@Alma Eligio me too
Definitely love the vloggers who growing their children to value stuff
What a wonderful idea for getting gifts! I hope that more people see it. It will make shopping more intentional like you said 🫶🏻👌🏻👍🏻
Thank you for sharing! What a perfect mix and they will love it!
You are contagious!! Merry Christmas!! ❤
What I really want, every time I see it is your Christmas tree! I love it.
We are doing want need wear read too! My kids are the same ages as the twins and Faye and I got them similar things as you did! I love this method because they already have so many toys and with this they are getting one toy plus one from Santa and the rest of it is usually really useful.
Love that the need was art great idea we love consumables here too like we can always need playdough
I keep seeing this wicker baby doll stuff. I don't know, my kids would have that all broken before the day was over. It's cute though!
I always go overboard on my nephew lol. I should have done that, but when you have 4 adults in one house buying for a 4 year old, that would be 4 wants, 4 wear, 4 Need and 4 read. Art supplies absolutely fall into the need category! My daughter truly expresses herself through her art & I love it ❤
Thank you ,it's so hard never seeing my two best friends again they passed away last year I have pneumonia I moved to Tennessee
I love this. It's perfect for families who can't afford a bunch.
Love the dinosaur stuff u found great deals on pjs too
Love how you kept it super simple and affordable! Your hair looks so pretty, too:)

Do you have an Amazon store front or whatever it's called? It would be nice to get ideas of stuff to get the little ones from your Amazon page.
Omg love the converse :)
I so so appreciate you saying you’ll see what Santa brings on Christmas Eve. I never watch these kind of videos in front of my kiddos for fear of that. ❤ very considerate.

Is the “crib” not a pet bed? That’s probably why it’s larger than doll beds, but it’s a genius swap if it is indeed a pet bed!
💝🎄 Hi Rachelle, the Xmas gifts you got for Emma 🖍🗒🥾🥾 Reuben🦖🖍🗒 👟 Asher🦖🖍🗒👟 Faye 🧦🧦🧦 are absolutely perfext xmas gifts. I love you always put alot thought when you giving gifts. This is the first time I've heard of this method. I'm definitely doing that this year!
Fabulous idea for gifts this year. Love the traditions you are incorporating into the family
I don't have kids but there are 7 kids in our family under the age of 15. My cousin has 5 kids, brother has 1, and my aunt has 1. I'm doing something you can wear, something you can eat, something you can see, and something for fun.
That crib is awesome. She'll be able to use that even as she gets older
What a cute Christmas 🎄 your family will have.❤💚
I have done the same for my nephew's, and it's worked out fantastic xxx
It is So SWEET that Emma told Santa what to give her baby sister! You seem to have a perfect plan for Christmas with 4 children! I wish you all The Best Christmas ever! Good bless y'all

You are so thrifty and it really inspires me!! Yes, I'm headed to target for the art supplies 🎄🎁
This is a great video! I love that you don’t go overboard and are mindful of cost. Great job mom!
Try big fat chalk for drawing on paving my grandsons love 😍 it. 3 and 6
Love the logical intentional gift giving! Such a good idea✨
I like the idea of this gift giving. I always go overboard on gifts, which is just overwhelming to buy and open on Christmas morning.
Great idea about the Christmas gifts!❤

What a great idea for Christmas 🎄 great video.

This was great!! Everything is so cute!!!
Rachelle, you are glowing! Merry Christmas - this is an excellent idea.
The boys’ shoes! How cute!🦖🦕
Also, Rachelle's hair looks amazing like that!!
I love your hair!!!
I’m having a hard time deciding what to get my daughter for Christmas! She’ll be a little over a month old, so I know she won’t really care. But it’s hard.
Don't forget Mister and Pepper 😜
Not me with my closet half full of presents for my two boys 😅
Also $5 for those adorable converse!!! That’s a steal!!! Oh my goodness ❤
YOUR HAIR LOOKS SO GOOD!! I can’t stop looking at it 😍
I think if I were to ever do that then I would give them their need, wear, read on Christmas Eve to make getting ready for Santa more fun and do their wants on Christmas morning.
I loved the skip hop activity center for my daughter now it's her activity table 😁
I've never heard of the want, need, wear, read strategy but I love it!

Such a great idea! Also I LOVE your hair!! 😍
We started doing this with our kids a few years back. It’s so much better and they enjoy their presents so much more
You did fantastic with their gifts!
Emma might like to do this for a child in a shelter or fill a shoebox for Operation Christmas Child
I love that idea too. My kids are grown up now but I get them one big gift and a few small things
We do the same thing for our kids. For years we would spend way to much on Christmas. Now it’s more meaningful and budget friendly. We have even went down to Santa only bringing one gift instead of 5+.

Aww, wish mine were little again! Gift buying was so simple then.
Love this method ♥️🙌♥️🎄⭐️💫
Awesome job 💜
I got my daughter those boots you got Emma!

I saw that yesterday at my home goods they had the matching stroller and high chair
I love this, it’s weird and I think sort of rude for viewers when people have like over 50 gifts per kid
I did that each child got the same amount of gifts.
Tell Santa that crab is on Amazon
I love your family❤️😘💋😍
We did want need wear read and share. And of course a couple of small things and candy for the stockings. This plan has kept me from when I’m walking thru the store just randomly picking up stuff that looks oh so cute or fun that I’m reality they will never play with.
