I'm still not sure why most people severely underrated Khachanov prior to the match. Hes played in several slam QF's as opposed to Kordas 1st. Its possible Korda may have taken Medvedev by surprise by playing so well in the third round. And none of the players really had Korda on their list of guys to watch out for. But i think players will quickly figure out his game and it will become much more difficult for him.
Khachanov seems to perform at his best in grand slams as oppossed to other tournaments. Ive always felt he was a wasted talent but who knows he might finally achieve the big one in a few days. Korda is still going to keep improving. He needs to build more muscle on him to be able to handle these issues longer in a tournament. I can see Korda doing big things in a few years. I predicted with my mom that Korda and Sinner would become top 10 players this year and im sticking by that prediction
Tough for Korda, but he made the right call. Thiem's experience shows that a wrist injury could develop into something very serious and put him out for an entire season. Health is more important than a title. Well done to both.
he was dealing with it hroughout the entire second set, in the end it just got too much and he couldnt compete anymore. Why aggravate a problem even more if you know you cant play to the right standard
Sorry, but Karen is a very good player! Karen has much more experiences Sebastian. Karen has been in 2019 quarterfinal French Open, in 2021quarterfinal Wimbledon, 2022 semifinal US Open, olympic silver medal 🥈!!!
Yeah he should have risked 9 months of his career just so his opponent can finish his match against what would probably be a lot of slices and moonballs.
No! He did the right thing, he gives khachanov no unnecessary gameplay where he could also potentially injure himself or where khachanov could lose strength for the next game. Unlike a Rafael Nadal

Korda has beaten Khachanov twice before tho

Korda a good guy, and a very good player. Good luck in your recovery kid.
Кордо понял что проигрывает, Хачанов молодец, прекрасно играет
dont judge him its his body he is just avoiding stress that can lead to nothing.. its a practical decision
Вот это поворот...🫢🎾
I forgot he's only 22. This year is not important. Long term success and health is top priority.
Great career for the young man! A short one! All the best for what he does next!
It's not over! He will be back when his wrist has healed.
you think its already over or am I misunderstanding you?
Good luck for both players

Just give Djoko the cup... Can't believe this year AO
He probably learn some lesson from Emma. Just when you're about to loss a match. Retire!!!! Hahaha

How did the man who beat Medvedev get sweeped away by Khahanov??!

Pathetic. Only 3 games away and decided to retire. Should have shown some class and just let the opponent finish the match properly.

What a shame?! 😞
Was a matter of 3 games... he should have given his opponent a cleaner respectful win.
@Jurio Yup Roidal likes to ruin both the opponents and himself

Korda lost the plot.
