I’m by no means a young mother (my sons are 30 and 32!) but I’m totally taking your tip of No Buy, Low Buy for this year!!! It’s brilliant!!! Especially when Amazon, Etsy, and eBay are SO EASY!!! We all can learn to be tighter with our money. We should save what we would have spent on something we don’t really need.
@Rachelle and Justin Holy moly you responded! Ah! You are one of my role models and have helped me through so much! Thank you from the bottom of my heart
Hi Rachelle - I've heard you mention before that you would like to get a more consistent routine for uploading videos, but honestly - you don't need to. Your core watchers are just happy whenever you post, even if it's been 10 days or more. I don't think you need to put that pressure on yourself - just post when you can. Also I really enjoy the length of your videos, they are a perfect length. I sometimes don't click on TH-clipsrs I follow who post 20+ minutes. It's too long!! PS: Happy Birthday Cappy, I'm surrounded by them - my son, my foster boy, my nephew, my puppy, a good friend and a workmate - (I'm a saggi)!
I follow 2 people that post 45-60 min blogs mulitple times a week. I don’t have time to sit and watch all that. I’d much rather see a 10-15 min video twice a week. That way I don’t feel like I’m missing anything and I’m also supporting their channel.
I love the goals you’ve set, especially the relationship and travel ones! Those are both top priorities to me. Some of my goals this year are to make fitness a staple in my life again (finallly done breastfeeding after 2.5 years and ready to make my body mine again!) I just started using the Mamele app and it’s been everything I needed. 👌🏼🤗 Reducing screen time is a big one for me as well, especially before bed and right when I first wake up. Other goals are reading 40 books, intentional purchases and updating our budget monthly so we can start saving to buy lots of land!! Loved this video, it would be a fun idea to do a short or reel each month updating how you’ve been attaining your goals!
I related to this video so much. My birthday is also in January, so the aspect I love about it is the same of yours. New year, but really another year older in my life. I am also doing the nonfiction books! I never liked reading but I am doing 1 chapter a day. Starting with Atomic Habits, which I love and recommend so far! After I read one chapter in the morning, I write out a to do list for the day and just start knocking it out.
Happy birthday Rachel. First and foremost love when you post videos infact me and my family. You are a super mom be proud of yourself and no guilt nothing. You are a motivation to many of us with your tips and everything. I'm more organized person since I started following you and the things you do to keep everything in its place. One thing I recently did like you did too was to take out all my skin care so I can start using them all and no buy cause I have alot of them. Second is watch my diet I have high cholesterol and over weight after birth I have to watch that. And also spending 💰 what I'm also focusing on since we are looking to purchase a house no need extra items as far as clothing and things we can live without and they are not a must. I hope you enjoyed your birthday. Please kiss your little munchkins they are so adorable 🥰
I love that you are being realistic and not setting too many goals! Also with the dentist remember that going every year means if anything were to go wrong it'll be minor when they notice it and so it'll help avoid having to have any major procedures done in the future!
I really relate to your list.I always stuck to 1 on 1 time with my kids and it was also important to me to put alot of value into us as a family & us as a unit. My kids are older now (11+) it's still working for my family & I think it has helped us bond as a large family and feel noticed as an individual. I also struggled with time away from my kids but as they got older I realised it was healthy for me and my kids.. I also read alot of mum books because I has anxieties about getting the whole mum role correct.. I feel I gained alot from reading even if it just made me feel less anxious
Right now I have 3 goals for the year….. 1 - Journal at least 2-3 days a week for therapy (I’ve tried to journal in the past, but picking up past journals, the dates have been beyond 2 years ago). 2 - Budget! My boyfriend just got back from deployment not too long ago, and we’ll be getting a place together - so we’ll need to set things up so we’re not over spending towards things. And 3 - Cutting out anything toxic in my life… whether that’s over spending, holding onto items I don’t or haven’t used recently, certain junk food.. whatever may be considered toxic and holding myself back from being happy.
My top tip with journaling if you aren't using prompts or anything is just to write bullet points at first! That way you get in the habit of writing short ideas, and once you've got that you can start writing full sentences/paragraphs if that is your ultimate goal!
Happy Birthday Rachelle 🎂 🥳 🎉 🎈 🎁 🎊 my goals for this year are no more fall's. In the past 2 months I broke my knee then on Christmas eve I had a syncope spell saw black while standing in my kitchen when I woke up I looked at my left wrist it was crooked I knew it was broken and it was in a couple places it moved my radius bone over plus smashed a section in about 10 pieces had a 4 hour surgery to fix it. But biggest problem is in November I developed nerve damage in my right hand so spent time in rehab until January 1st to teach me how to learn to eat and dress myself again since I don't have feeling in several fingers and my palm. So my goals are to continue learning new ways to live by myself with 1 hand just had surgery on in a cast and sling and the other has nerve damage. Doing a EMG January 1st on my right hand then most likely surgery on my right hand might be in 2 casts at the same time unfortunately.. May not be able to wait 6 weeks for my break to heal before need right hand done. And to hopefully never fall again I have broken several bones due to brittle bones and osteoporosis and osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis they break when others wouldn't have anything but a bruise. My hip broke just walking took a step couldn't take another. So that's my goal for 2023. I'm poor only go to the grocery store once a month. I still am wearing my clothes from the 70's can't tell you how long since I bought myself anything at a store. Guess my biggest goal is if I wake up every morning no matter how bad I'm hurting is to keep a smile on my face remember there's always someone not as lucky to still be here be able to talk to their family.
One way we do one on one time with each kid is at least one book alone with each child every night, sometimes we get a lot of books in or it's just one!
I have my mortgage set up to pay half every other week. It ends up adding up to an extra payment for the year and the bonus is that I don’t have to pay the full amount once all at once, which can be overwhelming.🙂
Goals for this year: 1. A book a month to help with less screen time. 2. More quality time with my husband before our baby is here in August 3. Financially, use a budget planner! I bought the one you bought from Target. (Would love another budgeting video btw!) 4. Dive deeper into our church and get involved for more community. 5. Love and accept my body as it changes with pregnancy.
My goals are all pretty much revolving around finances and mental health. I want to prioritize saving money, I use sinking funds so my main goal is to not buy anything extra unless it’s in my monthly budget or I make a separate sinking fund for it. It’s also a way to stop impulse buying by pretty much forcing myself to plan ahead. I’m low income so I need to be patient and strict if I want to see my savings grow. For my mental health I have a similar goal to yours; to stop feeling guilty or selfish for prioritizing myself in certain situations. I don’t have kids but when it comes to friends and family I always put them first, and recently I’ve started to burnout pretty often because I don’t allow myself to have enough me-time. I’m very much an introvert, I thrive when I’m alone and burn out quickly when in frequent/extended social settings. I’d like to take more time to myself and my own hobbies, learn to decline invites to things I don’t really want to go to, and to not let my anxiety convince me that everyone will hate me if I decline or cancel plans. Basically my mental health goal is just to be kinder to myself.
A goal I would like to work towards is just being more on it. I feel like I am constantly struggling to keep up. It would be nice to have an order and process.
Loved this video! I get you about the guilt to go out. I'm almost 64 3 kids 2 grandkids always getting them stuff first!! I think when you go out aline get yourself something then something little 4 kids that way you won't feel so bad 4 going out! And I would rather give birth than go to the dentist! Lmbo!!!!!!
I found a dentist who has a package plan that I can pay for each year. I get two cleanings a year and some other stuff for about $500. Going twice a year definitely helps. Check websites of various dentists to see if they have package plans for those without dental insurance.
We have a lot of similar goals. My oldest is 5 and in school & then I have a 2 year old. I’m hoping to have him potty trained so I can send him 2 days a week to nursery school for 3 hours. It would give me 2.5 hours of free time twice a week which I need. I want to feel like my own person. I’m more than just a mom but I have nothing to show for it. I don’t even know what I like anymore.
One big goal I am doing this year is a Bible in 1 Year plan. A friend of mine got together a bunch of lady’s and we all have a Facebook group encouraging each other and we are doing the plan together. So far it’s been great and I really want to make myself stick to it. I am horrible at reading the Bible so this is going to be a challenge lol.
My goals are to do more physically I’ve having surgeries and it has knocked me back a few steps and I’m 68 yrs old so it won’t be easy but I’m determined
Wow! That’s a lot of goals there! Can I suggest more specificity and attainable? Like ‘use sunscreen daily’ instead of the broader skincare goal? Quickly it will totally be part of your ritual, and is very attainable. That helped me succeed with my goals. Good luck👍
If you want to make one extra principal payment on the mortgage, but having trouble fitting it in your budget, divide the amount by 12. That way, you can add a little at a time every month instead of one big lump sum. If that works out, try for 2 principal payments next year.
@mcrchickenluvr Respectfully, that minimal amount wouldn't affect the principal significantly or rapidly enough. With a mortgage in CA, it's not likely to make much of a dent. It may work well on a credit card balance, but on a mortgage it won't mean much. $10 a month is only $120 a year. $120 per yr x 30yr on a typical mortgage is only $3600. It might shave off only 1 or 2 months of a 360-month mortgage in the long run. But you are right in every little bit helps.
My 2023 goal are get more healthy Have me time and try not to feel guilty 😊 I hope to finally get pregnant with my rainbow 🌈 baby (had miscarriage in August 2022) Have more date nights Stop breastfeeding my 2 year old son if he is ok with it Travel more and make memories
I'm a Capricorn too. I'm type A too. We can burn ourselves out too. I like you had my children close too. But did not even have mobiles etc. My eldest was born in 1979. I was 65 on the 2nd January this year. Xx
Well I am almost 63 and my goals are: get healthier, walk more drink more water, work on finances, work on my relationship with myself, sister and brother, daughter and husband. I need to spent more time scrapbooking and learning more about my family. Work on not feeling guilty about a purchase. I will buy it for my family and love doing it but when it comes to me I want to return it as soon as I get it.
I have habits and goals. However, my goals are based around 3 categories; Body, social and mind. I have a couple for each with either a long or short term goal. For example Body - go to the gym twice a week. Buy only one snack and watch my food ratio. Social - make plans for catching up with people each week. Hand in hand with that monitor when I need me time 😊 which should happen at least once a week. Mind - I have a meditation goal over slowly increasing how many per week I do each month. This could also be go outside once a day. Habits - Get ready each day. Read everyday but there isn’t an amount or time on there. 3 things I’m great full for and 3 wins each week. Management of finances is there too.
This year I didn't get goals but targets. I am one of those who if I don't reach my goal beat myself up, so figuring giving myself things to aim for might help.
Adult Membership Package (ages 14-61) $360 Annual Fee Up to 2 prophylaxis or “routine cleaning” visits each year Up to 2 routine exams per year All prescribed routine x-rays. $55 off Custom Teeth Whitening $250 off Crowns, $65 of Build-ups $500 off Implants $1,000 off Invisalign™ The above is what I pay for out of pocket each year
Rachelle…do you follow ‘Our Tribe of Many?’ Sarah (mom) and her dad (The Papa’s Kitchen) wrote a parenting book that can be preordered. I think you’ll like it…both families are amazing! Just FYI. 😊
A new parenting book that is on pre-order for March is, Common Sense Parenting, written by Jerry David and his daughter Sarah Mwania. Jerry is a pastor and Sarah is married to a pastor from Kenya. It's based on core parenting principles, not you've got to do things this way or that, to be doing it "right." Sarah Mwania has a TH-clips channel if you want to search for it. She is a mom of eleven.
If your insurance doesn’t cover dental, you can get a family plan of a reduced fee dental plan like EDP or Delta which will reduce the cost of both routine and bigger(ie cavity) dental expenses. And depending on the plan, x-rays may also be covered.
I also have always hated the dentist. The scraping in my head gives me such bad anxiety. I tell people I prefer the gynecologist to the dentist and they think I'm crazy >.
I'm taking care of my 97 year-old mum at home so my personal goals are on hold for, what I hope is a long time. I love my sweet mum so much. I treasure every moment the Lord gives me with her. I am continuing to read 2 chapters of the Bible each day and daily devotionals but that's not new. If I have time, I'll work on making a solar oven (just a 1 day project) and making a solar water catcher (just a partial day project)...and maybe a veggie and fruit garden...difficult to make plans right now. I love your goals.
You should look into private dental insurance, it’s not as expensive as you think! My husband and I are small business owners and have private insurance directly through delta dental. I think we pay $70 a month for the both of us and that’s the top coverage plan.
I need your help Rachelle! Please, do u remember another army wife that use to live on base , she had a daughter named gray was a makeup artist for a while. Her name was like cami or camille or somthing. Does anyone know what her channel or social media were, it's driving me nuts trying to find her page lol
You would hate the UK. It's constantly raining But I don't think I would like it if we didn't have Seasons. In terms of cleaning which is less in drier weather and wearing less clothing, so less washing, and so on, it would be great but I enjoy the different types of weather. Just gets a bit much when you have sun, rain, snow and high winds all in one day. 😆 🤣

Best of luck!! I fell and broke my ankle about 3 months ago and breaking bones are so life altering!
I wish you a much better year, better health and overall quality of life 💜 huge hug and sending good energy to keep up!
Happy Birthday Rachel, hope your birthday is beautiful as you!!! Awesome goals to work towards!
I live for new year goal and vision board content at this time of year! It sounds like you have a good mix of goals across the board 🙂
Happy Birthday 🥳
My goals are acceptance and forgiveness 🙏🏻
Great video! It’s nice to hear different wording from others to make you think on things you can work on.
I’m 30 years on from you and all your goals sound very wise. My only goals at this time in my life is to stay healthy and be happy.
thank you!!!
I think a vision board is a great idea! I feel New Years resolutions are good but a bit doomed to failier
I really enjoyed this video Rachelle! I’m not a resolution person either but I like the yearly goals idea and you really inspired me!
happy birthday pretty girl. you don't need make up. I love watching you and your family.
Goals for this year:
1. A book a month to help with less screen time.
2. More quality time with my husband before our baby is here in August
3. Financially, use a budget planner! I bought the one you bought from Target. (Would love another budgeting video btw!)
4. Dive deeper into our church and get involved for more community.
5. Love and accept my body as it changes with pregnancy.
And also, Happy Birthday Rachelle❤️
Great vision board, I did one this year, first time ever.
Happy, happy birthday Rachelle
Happy Birthday! I know how you feel about, starting a new year, my birthday is January 10th.
Happy early Birthday Rachelle!!!
Lmbo!!!!!!
Happy Birthday to you ❤🎉😊 Enjoy your day
thanks so so much!!!
I found a dentist who has a package plan that I can pay for each year. I get two cleanings a year and some other stuff for about $500. Going twice a year definitely helps. Check websites of various dentists to see if they have package plans for those without dental insurance.
I should definitely look at that!!!
More me time and something arty. My birthday was 31st Dec. So we are fellow Capricorn's ♑️ Happy Birthday!
OMG.. been so long since I saw a vlog.. you are looking gorgeous momma
As a mother who put my child ahead of my own. Make time for your own health, it will bite you if you don't
Good luck👍
You mention Godchildren so I have to ask what faith tradition y’all are! ❤
But you are right in every little bit helps.
great idea!
Even an extra $10-20 per month helps.
Please remember that you can’t pour from an empty vessel. If you are full then you are able to pour into others. This has helped me in motherhood.
My 2023 goal are
get more healthy
Have me time and try not to feel guilty 😊
I hope to finally get pregnant with my rainbow 🌈 baby (had miscarriage in August 2022)
Have more date nights
Stop breastfeeding my 2 year old son if he is ok with it
Travel more and make memories
Goals for this year put the lord first and with his help finally love myself enough to take care of me
I haven’t watched in a couple months bc BUSY, BUTTT MOMMA YOU ARE LOOKING FANTASTIC!! You just look l glowy and happy.
I'm a Capricorn too. I'm type A too. We can burn ourselves out too. I like you had my children close too. But did not even have mobiles etc. My eldest was born in 1979.
I was 65 on the 2nd January this year. Xx
Crikey… we’re still on self care and I’m feeling the pressure!
Fun video. Thanks for another great video. Tami

Try every so often when you go to Starbucks when Justin is home sit there and enjoy it then order his Starbucks and bring home the kids a treat ❤️🔥🍩🍩
My Goal is to minimize the clutter in this house.
an amazing goal!
I think vision boards are a wonderful idea. My kids are adults now but I should do one with my son and daughter.
Happy birthday 🎂 🥳🎉🎊

Happy Birthday 🎂🎂🎉🎉
Happy birthday and many more
If your insurance doesn’t cover dental, you can get a family plan of a reduced fee dental plan like EDP or Delta which will reduce the cost of both routine and bigger(ie cavity) dental expenses. And depending on the plan, x-rays may also be covered.
I also have always hated the dentist. The scraping in my head gives me such bad anxiety. I tell people I prefer the gynecologist to the dentist and they think I'm crazy >.
For any god parents out there: if you are married and were selected to be a god parent to a child, but not your partner, how would you feel/react?
To go to bed early and to stop late night snacking!!!
I just had my birthday January 12th!
And happy bday!!!!
❤❤❤❤
You should look into private dental insurance, it’s not as expensive as you think! My husband and I are small business owners and have private insurance directly through delta dental. I think we pay $70 a month for the both of us and that’s the top coverage plan.
Yes, take care of your skin faithfully.
Use your moisturizer ...morning and before bed...🙂
I need your help Rachelle! Please, do u remember another army wife that use to live on base , she had a daughter named gray was a makeup artist for a while. Her name was like cami or camille or somthing. Does anyone know what her channel or social media were, it's driving me nuts trying to find her page lol
Where do you find your bible studies? I also like very organized step by step bible studies and I need suggestions.
Tommrrow is the 15th my daughter be 20 the 16th I will turn 47 Capricorn all day
🤍🤍
Is this Kerenswan (kkbabyj) sister??
