Deon has some serious balls to take this job. If Prime can get Colorado turned around, he would become the greatest college football coach in the world. I think Deon is going to get it done.
As a CU alumni from the Coach Mac years and I'm super thrilled about CU landing Coach Prime. I listened to his whole speech to the CU team and found nothing wrong with it. In fact, it made me want to go back to school there. :) Also, I loved his meeting with his JSU team to discuss his departure. His JSU team displayed more gratitude and class than most when it comes to handling Coach Prime leaving. It's a testament to him as a coach and as a person and why JSU went undefeated.
@George Ferrier same thing I was thinking. The faceless people are always closet racists lol I've never met a nice head coach. The better you are the more accountable they hold you. And Colorado was absolute ass. I would've jettisoned 50% of the team and made the remaining 50% compete against the new recruits. If they couldn't perform they would be cut. It's part of the game.
Deion’s doing exactly what he needs to. Setting the tone and expectations on day one. No beating around the bush, no BS. Either give 100% effort in or football isn’t for you.
When I played football in middle school, our first day the coach told us we are expected to play like a team and work hard, and if anyone is not willing to do this - hit the road. We were not even teenagers yet, but nobody had a problem with this way of thinking, and nobody's parents complained about special treatment for their 'little man.' Therefore, nobody at the D-1 college level should have a problem with this message either. Coach Prime is doing what every good coach does early on, which is establish leadership over the team he was hired to lead. Regardless of what age you are, which level you're on, which division you play in, or which team you play for, if your team's record is 1-11 then Coach Prime's message should be a welcome one. If you don't feel that way - hit the road.
It's hard to look at those beautiful facilities and accept the lackluster performance from that program for years. COACH SANDERS IS A GREAT BLESSING for Colorado
I have been watching Colorado football since I was 6 years old. His speech gave me more hope than I have had in years watching the carousel of new coaches. He will bring a culture and players who crave that culture. That is what this team needs. We are about to make playing at Folsom into the challenge that it should be.
That speech was excellent! I felt like I was going to lose my spot on the team to someone more accountable, and I don't even play football 🤣that's the kind of vibe they need to change a losing culture
Being direct is a very difficult form of teaching, not many people have what it takes to look at a young man and tell him the hard truth, sometimes it could be an easy truth. A lot of coaches choose to lie to your face and act like they believe everything they just told you. What Prime did was show the upmost respect to these young men & told them the absolute truth so they fully understand what they’re up against. This team will succeed fast if they buy into what he’s selling!
A snapshot of the culture in the Colorado football program was revealed when one of the player's asked what the Summer Training was going to be like. It's going to be hard, and you might miss that family vacation you got used to enjoying, but it has to be done to go from losers to winners. The good news is that the quality of player, both on and off of the field, will be markedly changed for the better.
He said what needed to be said. Kids don't want to work or be held accountable anymore. We have a "microwave culture" that's destroying work ethic in youth; kids want everything handed to them in a millisecond or they want to transfer when the going gets tough. Great job Coach Prime!!!
People being upset is a really good indicator as to how people have gotten soft. The man is a certified winner. He knows what it takes to win. And you can’t win without structure and expecting the best at all times. Like he said some of them won’t make it and it won’t matter because there will be guys that have no problem buying in completely to his philosophies.
If my boys played college football and I heard a coach talking like that there would be no other options. That’s exactly the kind of man you want mentoring your young men.
I've been a Buffs fan since I was a kid (the 80's), and I can say that Dion was right to tell these kids to leave if can't play at this level. It's time to light the fire under this program, those kids needed a wake up call not coddling.
Deion Sanders was being dead honest. He is bringing a winning culture to Colorado and wants the dead asses gone. I watched him play here in Tallahassee at FSU and he gave it all. He still comes here and it’s good to see him when it able to catch him around. He is still down to earth and a God fearing man. Colorado some how got lucky and landed him.
I don't think lucky is the right word. A lot of pac 12 teams going to decent bowl games this season, and while Deion is a big name he was coaching at Jackson State for the last few years. Went from a good team in a bad conference to a bad team in a good conference. Seems like Colorado is the natural career progression based on his coaching experience.
@lee ving ?? greatest corner ever .. he’s like the kobe of football if you dnt count quarterbacks .. kobe could say whtever he wanted if he was a d1 coach
Coach Primes speech is exactly the attitude I want in a head coach. What I got out of it is he wants kids that want to compete and win and are not entitled to it. I’m really excited to see what he will do for the Buffs and I’m not even a Colorado fan!
I watched the entire speech and it was good. He needed to set a tone and set his expectations and he did just that. I'm not saying he will win a national title tomorrow but I believe he will help those young men be everything they can be
Prime said exactly what needed to be said. No swag at meetings, I love it. You gotta EARN swag. A little mixed message in NIL. He would've had the biggest NIL ever if that was a thing so maybe don't forget what Prime Time was about.
I watched the whole speech and was inspired. As a long suffering Buff I am glad to see Coach Prime at Colorado. I do feel bad for the kids at Jackson State and I have admired his work there. Many of those kids will come to Boulder and have many more doors open. Only because the stage is a bit bigger. I wish the Program at Jackson State well and will cheer for them.
He basically said I'm coming to bring you a Championship. Winning attitudes, dedication, and hard workers will be rewarded! All others...you will be dismissed! Love It!
He didn't tell them to transfer. He said if you're not on board go ahead and transfer. There is a difference. Anytime a new hire comes in that's what happens. Players leave, those not performing get their scholarships ripped, all Deon did was not sugarcoat what was about to happen.
@Thms Mgnm.45 Aye man, he said 10 are coming from JSU. Don't forget many of those are guys that could have gone anywhere in the country. Somebody on that CU roster can play and know how to work that's why he made the distinction. Mix that with what he brings and 1 -9 can turn into 6 -5 real quick. A season of recruiting, not to mention possible transfers from other places and the Buffaloes could be top 10 again in a couple seasons. Besides that USC and somebody else is on their way out of the conference. Colorado is down now but Colorado is traditionally one of the better programs in history. Mix in the fact that as a head Coach they now boast the greatest, most charismatic corner back ever to grace a football field and what will be a coaching staff with all kinds of professional football knowledge...nah he won't have a problem landing the necessary talent.
Player who want to be on winning teams that get tv highlights that will interest pro-football teams or players who are being offered big NIL$$$$ right now.
I read a story about Chuck Noll the day of his first team meeting with the Steelers. He talked about how he was going to turn them into winners then said that most of the players in the room wouldn’t be there when it happened. Nothing Deion said crossed a line. He’s sending a message buy in or go somewhere else.
My college coach basically did the same thing. We were his first college recruiting class. So for the previous team he made sure to weed out the week with winter conditioning. And ran the heck out of them to make sure the ones that really wanted to play were there.
Miss having coaches like that who didn’t cater to players. They coached the game and taught what was right along with respect. Take note Millennials and Gen Z’s. Prime Time about to get it done at CU! Not a Buff’s fan but with a coach like him I just may become one!
Repent and believe in Jesus. John 3:16 KJV - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Luke 13:3 KJV - I tell you nay: but except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. John 3:3 KJV - “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
Colorado hasn’t been really good for awhile. When I attended we destroyed Nebraska and were contending for the division championships every year. There needs to be large change. He’s an old school coach and I love it.
He didn’t say that by the context they tryna project.. he straight up said I’m telling y’all it’s gonna be some fast winning changes when I get back, so if you don’t wanna change bad habits.. hit that transfer portal ASAP 💯
Deion Sanders gave a great introduction to that Colorado team (that wasn't even all in attendance, since we're on the subject of disrespect), & if hitting the transfer portal is what players got from it then they should indeed transfer. He was not shy about saying & I quote, "we're gonna try to make you quit".
You're exactly right! people take a 30 sec snip of a 10 min speech....I hate it. That's why I put the whole speech up on my TH-clips channel. I hate when these media talking heads take things out of context to create drama and a story.
I thought it was hilarious how he told them he was coming but he was bringing his own bag pretty much saying that they can stay if they want but he will be playing his player lol
The main thing that seperates talented college players and pro players is discipline. There's players with more talent watching games on tv than playing. No participation trophy victims on successful teams.
@GHOST LEGITyou sound like a real bytch. He told them to hit the transfer portal if they don’t want to follow suit. Tbh a 1-11 team, those players aren’t earning a spot so that would be a lie. You can’t baby them by sparing feelings. They were horrible last season
@Ghosthe had on a CU hat to represent the team. It’s the same way I was taught in the military. Some guys would be sleep under their cover in briefings. Also it has a do as I tell you message that a 1-11 team needs
Yo McAfee is a straight beast. This guy speaks his mind with no hesitation. That’s the kind of sports coverage real fans need. Not a scripted response to “breaking news”.
Deion made it very clear that he only wants people who want to be there and will work to win. In fact, he just gave those players a look into the real world. You perform or you get out.
Everyone brings people who knows and supports their winning style. Deion isn’t any different. Players, coaches, staff, he is bringing enough to plant the seed of success and he will build from there.
@Douglas Jarnagan and knowing that your "baggage guys" will play hard, doesn't necessarily mean that they will be the right fit. It's a huge difference in levels of competition.
It’s simply saying we’re changing our culture. And him bringing in other players means that they have to compete for positions and not just based on seniority
I was at Husky Stadium three weeks ago and watched them destroy Colorado 54-7. Not only myself, but people around me were totally shocked at how terrible and inept that team was at every aspect of the game. O, D, Special Teams, was a mess. So, if I were a Buffalo fan that cared about this program. I'd be telling them the same things. Get tough, get smart, get strong, get dedicated and get ready to work your ass off......If you're not, over there is the transfer portal. If him saying that is too much. Then you're too weak to be a football fan.
Going to a one win team is smart. If you win, you’re a hero…and there’s no immediate pressure to win. I like some of his message, and some of it could’ve been worded different. Those kids are not the reason the coach got fired. You don’t ever put that on the kids. My Dad was a great high school coach who always said “kids win and coaches lose”.
I love how Deion was grandstanding allllll year like he’s the MLK of HBCU, then as soon as the opportunity arises, dips for one of the whitest schools in the nation😂😂😂😂😂
The only part of the speech that I found telling is that when given the chance to speak not one player said "Coach you will have to drag my dead body out of this locker room and off this campus to get rid of me"
If you think there was something wrong with Prime's speech then you just don't get it and probably never will. Team sports with a good head coach is something every person should experience in their life's. Great life lessons are taught thru team sports
I love it, everybody’s not gonna be the adult in the room, especially when you’re in the position to lead. ..the ranks are the greatest reflection of its immediate leadership! fmr Marine 🦅
It's hard to look at those beautiful facilities and accept the lackluster performance from that program for years. COACH SANDERS IS A GREAT BLESSING for Colorado
As a University of Utah alumnus and season ticket holder, I'm fully behind Deion Sanders' efforts to make Colorado into a competitive team. The PAC always schedules Colorado for Utah's last game of the season, and it's damn boring. Nice as it to be able to rest the starters before going on to crush the hopes of an overrated USC (or Oregon last year) team for a second time in a season, I'd rather watch competitive football. All that said, what's Deion's coaching resume?
LeBron leaving Cleveland the 1st time.. I get it he brought life to the sip however that man has the right to make a decision based on him and his family let that man live
Hard not to support Deion. He has swag because he can back it. These kids will at least get to be around a solid, accountable coach that demands the best. They also get a very real chance to become a champion in there sport.
We live in Centennial…near Boulder…the buffs are putrid and irrelevant…it’s about time a REAL coach shows up and cares and wants a winner here in Colorado!! I’m a military vet and love how hard he’s going to be on the players!
@Jack Gardner which one? And you're talking about football players and coaches here and you don't think a very high percentage isn't loud or full of themselves? Maybe you haven't been around college players or professionals in their element.
They had a chance to hire Eric Bieniemy and didn't really pursue him and he's a coach that's been helping chiefs become the team they are alongside Andy Reid. But maybe primetime can show the state what it's been missing for awhile.
Prime is Prime. Those players knew what was coming. Caleb I believe does that nail FU note for most of their games. Think he always has, sports media see it and have to do 15 Min segments before kickoff on it. Made it bigger than it needed to be
Sanders put the team on notice...be prepared to compete or kick rocks. As a former athlete (3rd grade through college) I love what Sanders said and is doing. I am looking forward to Colorado returning to being a competitor not just a stat-booster.
Day one when they walked Saban around the Alabama facility he stopped in the weight training area. He looked up at a huge TV screen and told the person conducting the tour to have the TVs out of the weight training area that day. It set the tone.
I watched the entire Coach Prime speech to the team. When Coach said, "no hats, no hoodies" look out into the audience, how many players removed their hats? ONE! You got it, ONE! The guys on the front row were just sitting there with their mouths open. It was like they didn't hear a word the coach said. Also, a lot of multi-year players didn't show up for the meeting. The room was full of underclassman. Most were too small and wimpy to be in their 4th or 5th year of eligibility. I would surmise that 80% of those in that meeting will be gone after the summer workouts. They couldn't hear him in a 15m speech, they definitely won't listen to him on the practice field. And geez, these kids don't know how to Google? Coach Prime's coaching ways are out there to see plain as day on his YT channel. They didn't even do their homework the night before. As Coach said, he has a lot of work to do.
I watched that video I never got that he told them to leave. His speech was awesome. He said if you don’t want to work then this isn’t the place for you.
I think you are 💯 right. People confuse the character that is prime time and the man who had the drive and talent to be among the best in two sports. Coach Sanders is a no BS kind of coach. I watched one of his speeches to his team before what i believe was the Thanksgiving break. He told those kids that they weren’t going back to the same people they knew. There were people who were jealous and would love nothing more than them to fail. He also said if you weren’t at practice on time of Monday they were off the team. He said no excuses, you be back here in town Saturday night and you won’t have to worry about things going wrong on Sunday. He said if you leave for school on Sunday and something happens and you miss practice just empty your locker. He’s no nonsense and I’m sure he holds himself to the same standards.
If you’ve ever played football at any level what Deion said was probably one of the nicest things you’ve heard from a coach 😂
Exactly not a single curse word and didn't yell one time. Most polite coach in history 😂🤣I've never been told my bags are Louis by a coach
Factual
😂😂😂. I have never played foot ball, but I have seen some practices, and smelled the locker room. Real talk.

@Chaz B your and ignorant if you didn't understand the comment lol
Deon has some serious balls to take this job. If Prime can get Colorado turned around, he would become the greatest college football coach in the world. I think Deon is going to get it done.
His speech was on point, and was meant to motivate them. Only the strong will survive. Best of luck to all of them! 🙏🏽🌹
@Joe Schmoe some talent with extreme work, dedication and discipline just like every other sport or anything else in life
@The H Family More than likely. 🤦🏽🤣
Half the team hittin the transfer portal lol
Only the strong will survive? Hmm🤔at what point XACTLY does one go from weak to STRONG?
@MosVal 👌🏽🙏🏽🌹

Them boys won ONE game. Good on Prime to set the tone from the jump. Some players didn't even show up to the meeting, get the BS out.
@Judaean Hebrew you’re completely clueless. Stick with anime.
@LeAnthony Moore indeed. Disgustingly soft.

He's not staying in Colorado. 3 years tops good or bad he's out. Nfl job somewhere.
Been watching losers all yo' life huh?
Deion Sanders will easily become the best Colorado football coach since Bill McCartney.
I’m excited for you and the rest of the Colorado fan base
That speech was excellent! I felt like I was going to lose my spot on the team to someone more accountable, and I don't even play football 🤣that's the kind of vibe they need to change a losing culture

@Frosty Bytes No, I would be mad at nepotism.
Great analysis. Deon knows how to be a champion.
He did the right thing. He kept it 💯. More coaches need to be that way instead of lying

I can tell you this for sure: Colorado will have more wins in 2023 than they did this year.
Prime is able to be brash and confident because he backs it up with integrity and standards. That combo is valuable to young men.
Deion is a great bet to turn the program around. He comes with great credibility, both as a player, and coach.
Every single program does this. Colorado went 1-11. They need better players. Deon's gonna go get them.
The main thing that seperates talented college players and pro players is discipline. There's players with more talent watching games on tv than playing. No participation trophy victims on successful teams.

@bony tonyso he should hold the hands of guys that went 1-11?
I like your channel....I Love Deon Sanders, I'm glad Colorado giving him a Chance
Yo McAfee is a straight beast. This guy speaks his mind with no hesitation. That’s the kind of sports coverage real fans need. Not a scripted response to “breaking news”.
I love what Coach Sanders said about rules and conduct. Colorado needed this and I heard over 200 kids have been in contact with Colorado.
I thought his speech was great, can't wait to see what he does for that program.
Deion made it very clear that he only wants people who want to be there and will work to win. In fact, he just gave those players a look into the real world. You perform or you get out.
@Jack Ruiz why would shedeur battle with the Colorado qb? They started 3 different QBs this season there is no comp
Exactly!
@Dmad not with white folks they get away with being lazy.😂
He will attract players like crazy! That man is going to light up Colorado!
@tntbooking
Says a troll with a fake name. 🤔
your dad was wrong
He’s being honest and people can’t handle it. Imagine that
They went 1-11, he was letting them know from the jump that sort of effort wasn’t going to cut it
I love how Deion was grandstanding allllll year like he’s the MLK of HBCU, then as soon as the opportunity arises, dips for one of the whitest schools in the nation😂😂😂😂😂
Great speech. Support for Coach Sanders. 1-11 not much there.
Winning one game is crazy 😂
The only part of the speech that I found telling is that when given the chance to speak not one player said "Coach you will have to drag my dead body out of this locker room and off this campus to get rid of me"
Deion Sanders speech was Amazing I didn’t see nothing wrong with it. Primetime is not worrying about the critics
If you think there was something wrong with Prime's speech then you just don't get it and probably never will. Team sports with a good head coach is something every person should experience in their life's. Great life lessons are taught thru team sports
I'm sure deion will be an NFL coach in no time
I noticed that none of players stood when he entered the room. I’m sure Coach Prime noticed too. Those boys will pay the price to be good or be gone.
Exactly what I thought, great speech.
I love it, everybody’s not gonna be the adult in the room, especially when you’re in the position to lead.
..the ranks are the greatest reflection of its immediate leadership!
fmr Marine 🦅
Deion is exactly what any team or organization (sports or not) needs for a turn around. Accountability/discipline and a mindset on success.
I enjoyed it as well!
Go Buffs!
It's hard to look at those beautiful facilities and accept the lackluster performance from that program for years. COACH SANDERS IS A GREAT BLESSING for Colorado
I’m a Colorado native and I can tell you no one here is upset. Not sure where this narrative is coming from.
This Utah fan is rooting for the Buffs. Proud program which has fallen on hard times. Prime is good for the Pac12
When you’re the best db of all time you can talk to players like that
LeBron leaving Cleveland the 1st time.. I get it he brought life to the sip however that man has the right to make a decision based on him and his family let that man live
"We are not weating hats in the meetings", ,meanwhile Deion is wearing a hat lol
He leveraged his relationship with FSU to steal his alma mater's #1 recruit in the country. A real class act.
Hard not to support Deion. He has swag because he can back it. These kids will at least get to be around a solid, accountable coach that demands the best.
They also get a very real chance to become a champion in there sport.
The competition is going to make all the original players on the team TOUGHER. 💪🏽
Being a heel can be a good thing in individual sports but in a team game it probably hurts more than helps
@G M A loud mouthed narcissist?
They had a chance to hire Eric Bieniemy and didn't really pursue him and he's a coach that's been helping chiefs become the team they are alongside Andy Reid. But maybe primetime can show the state what it's been missing for awhile.
It's simple. Either u want to win or get the hell out. Accountability is key in sports
Primetime a great player and smart coach
All he meant was I was those who work !!! If I was there I’m going to practice after that speech
I loved his speech lmao
Prime is Prime. Those players knew what was coming.
Caleb I believe does that nail FU note for most of their games. Think he always has, sports media see it and have to do 15 Min segments before kickoff on it. Made it bigger than it needed to be
Prime told it like it was. Better to know upfront. This team won like 1 game. Good to hold people accountable
1-11 that whole room is gone let’s be real 😂
Sanders put the team on notice...be prepared to compete or kick rocks. As a former athlete (3rd grade through college) I love what Sanders said and is doing. I am looking forward to Colorado returning to being a competitor not just a stat-booster.
Day one when they walked Saban around the Alabama facility he stopped in the weight training area. He looked up at a huge TV screen and told the person conducting the tour to have the TVs out of the weight training area that day. It set the tone.
If you dont agree with what he's trying to do,or willing to put in the work, dont let the door hit you on your way out 💯
I watched the entire Coach Prime speech to the team.
I'm a Oklahoma sooners fan. I agree with Coach Sanders. If your feelings hurt. Your not gonna last long in football.
I watched that video I never got that he told them to leave. His speech was awesome. He said if you don’t want to work then this isn’t the place for you.
Deion literally walked into the first meet of the team with his phone in his hand.
Respect to Shannon Sharp for what he said as well
I look forward to seeing Coach prime at Rice Eccles next year.
Thank you for going beyond the soundbites.
As a ND fan, I’ll say it wasn’t personal to Utah. He had F ND against them, still immature….
Loved the Prime speech
Deion wants to build a dedicated team I would’ve said the same thing if you don’t want to win and just play for your stats then peace ✌🏿
