Given that the lack of drafted and developed goaltenders over the past 20 years, thus signing can be a great one, if he turns into something very good. It could also buy some time to draft and develop another goalie in the system.
It is just and AHL deal so I suspect the will allow Kallgren and Woll battle it out for the back up position next year or sign a veteran goalie to a one year deal. For the Marlies this is great. Adds another goalie. 4 young up and coming goalies in the system, 2 previous in Woll and Kallgren and then I see Scott and McKay might battle it out for the backup job for the Marlies or just have 3 goalies on the team. The Marlies might get spoiled with goalies to choose from. For McKay this could be good and we all know the Toronto market gets a lot of attention so he could get an NHL offer playing. I am optimistic but reserved about him. There r a lot of goalie prospects the leafs have rn
He's about 3 inches too short. But Sarros is a stud in Nashville and he's listed at 5 10 or 5 11. Same as McKay, so at least there's some proof that it's possible to be successful without being 6 ft 2 or taller.
Okay? Who cares about size? Anton Khudobin led the Stars to the finals a couple years ago. Jaro Halak is still in the NHL. Devon Levi is a top prospect as wel

I like Andrew’s low key style. He is thoughtful and caring. Thanks Andrew
How do those kind of numbers usually translate to the AHL/NHL? I mean, how good an indicator is it usually?
What’s his comparison and potential?

Do you still think Dubas should be fired if they lose in round 1?
Apparently his only fault is his size. A short goalie can still be good!
Saros is a prime example of that
Nice player to pick up.
Does McKay play on the same team as Knies?
He's good..
McKay is kind of small considering the current hiring ceiling in the NHL but put him with the Marlies and see what he can do right?

Hey bud no one cares what you say. Educate yourself instead of judging before being critical on something
Only Toronto do they saturate the media with a 24-year old goalie wannabe that has been suspended for 6 months on a doping violation. Only Toronto.
