Maple Leafs trading for Max Domi?

Would love to see Domi become a Leaf. I think he would be a key player on the 2nd line with willy and JT.. and could also give the 3rd line a boost. He's a gritty player and also early today I mentioned it on Twitter

If Chicago needs a goalie in the mix to trade Fleury, and with Mrazek having a no trade clause, that could be why they acquired Carter Hutton.

There's a world where I think a domi in the blue and white would be really cool again. And I would love to see some more passionate players in Toronto as well. I can't help but feel this would be a better free agency move.

I'll just keep it simple. Dubas made an clear checklist in order, D first and only move IF Muzz is out longer. Put faith in goaltending, so if Muzzin is out longer it's a D and forward...UNLESS deadline day we have the space then goalie too (if bad news on Muzzin only)

I'm a fan of getting a veteran defenceman and Giordano fits the bill. The experience of him along with Muzzin and Reilly would balance the youth they have on defense and of course give them some needed depth on defense in case they come across injuries. I'm open to them doing anything that improves their defense for the playoffs and for next year too. Thanks and keep smiling 🤘 🙂

If we do end up targeting another Dman I think that Dermott will be moved out to create additional cap space. Otherwise we’ll probably keep him for depth. As for Domi I can only see it with that double retention. Don’t think the ask will be as much as some believe. Be a stretch to expect a 2nd rounder for a rental your only playing 13 minutes a night. I’m thinking a 3rd plus a sweetener for retention should get it done.

I don't really want them to go after Domi. I think if they want to upgrade there are other areas that are more important. I think most of the Leafs forwards are already better than him.

If Domi can be the staw to stir the drink that is the Taveras Nylander line I'm all for it honestly. As much as I like Kerfoot he's just not that guy and his cap hit is too much to put him in the bottom six IMO. Another veteran D-man, and a player LIKE Domi to slot into that second line and that would be great going into the playoffs. I agree with you on Pysyk, but at what cost?

I wouldn't trust Mrazek to save my spot in line. Trade him. If we could get Fleury that would be great. Muzzin has to go, he is always hurt. 9 million for Muzzin and Mrazek is insanity.

As someone who liked the idea of adding Domi and perhaps re-signing him for less than his current cap hit, I completely changed my mind, he’s just not very good and he won’t sign for what he’s worth, which is close to 2.5 at most
Honestly Leafs should forget the Tie Domi connection and forget about this guy, he’s not a very talented hockey player…

I think if the Leafs should get Domi they should also go after Bowen Byram and Burakovsky. Go Nylander, Niemela and Kerfoot for Byram and Burakovsky.
Burakovsky as a power forward, Domi as a playmaker/ occasional shooter and try Robertson as solely a sniper.
Tavares looks off for a long time I think they can protect him more by giving him a smaller role on the third line.

Having Domi could make an impact. I don’t think Toronto will bite on him. Fleury is probably a no go ad well. Could Spezza be two-way guy? Pair him up on defense with Reilly. That could be an interesting line…

Ugh....Max Domi is just a guy, one of the least impactful players out there ane he'll face a ton of pressure with that name on the back of his jersey. It's not a good fit. There has to be better options than Max Domi.

I don't think Fleury is a possibility. Campbell and Mrazek are good enough if Keefe can figure this defense out. Dubas needs to pull in a good defenseman to help this team. If they can get this figured out, the goalies might be able to have a chance. There is WAY too much traffic in front of the Leafs net. Do the Leafs need a game changer up front? Sure but who? Domi won't make a difference, I hope he doesn't become a Leaf.

Hey guy, the level of speculation with little possibility of the trades you talk about makes your videos less than interesting. If there was some basis for these potential trades it would be far more interesting. Sorry I am getting less and less interested.

A few points here:
- Pysyk ... I watched the game buffalo thumped toronto specifically at times also looking for him ... I only noticed him on 1 major play ... beyond that he was invisable which as they say can be a good & bad thing. ONLY 2 ways this is feasable 1. buffalo willing to do a trade with toronto ( thats pretty impossible as history has shown ) & 2. Dermott is moved out in the deal or another deal.
- Max Domi .... he could bring a "bunting" presence to line 2 .. which would help it .... BUT I'll reference Kipper earlier this week on his show ... I agree with kipper in saying that .. Max here would be too much pressure to play like his dad. And if he had a hard time while in montreal .. toronto would only be a slight improvement on that. BUT again ... toronto would be bad cause again pressure of the legacy of his dad here .... He also could in turn pull a foligno as well .. play 2-5 games here .. poof injured & no good to the team.
- Jake Muzzin .... As I said with augello on his audio show earlier this week ... with his style of play over the years ... previous to these 2 concussions & like-wise these now 2 back 2 back quick concussions .. as much as I dont want to point out ... with his play earlier this year & now this .... I think its not just managements responcibility but also Jake himself to put his pride aside & say for the sake of not only his newborn child but his ability to live life to call it a career. Does doing so help the leafs in the short term IF he is able to come back & play somewhat how he did ... No ... BUT ... IF that is the case that the money can come off & the leafs are able to sacrafice the #1 this or next year or some roster players to bring in chycryn from arizona .. it will help the team there.
- Mrazics no trade clause kicks in next year I firmly believe .. would mrazic like to be traded to chicago .. probly not .. BUT IF you can turn a deal with chicago into a multi piece deal around Fleury ( whom could also mentor cambell & his complex mental issues ) a d & a forward ... that could work .. thought it leaves the leafs Goaltending in question ( even IF cambell signs .. after this bump in the road he's had .. he's put himself in that $3-4 mill range if that .. ) they could still go out there & find by free agency, trade or internally goaltending. And as pointed out by another show ... Fleury still has some elite status ... but again now has some chinks in the armor (ha ha ha wasnt even thinking vegas till I typed it) like MANY elite HOF'er goaltenders do in the last years of there career.
With not much movement out there from various teams still feeling there in the playoffs or wanting to keep players ... plus managements mantra to not give up too many assets ... I think its going to be hard for the leafs to make a mega trade or abunch of minor ones ... Especially with Muzzin being a ? on his health ( again ... I think he's honestly done & with a cup already SHOULD retire & live a happy long life ) & the money that ties up. Also I think the leafs cant wait to the deadline to aquire peaple to get into there system & working with it.
