I had genetic testing for brca1 gene which came back positive and it's always good to know to be proactive and keep up on all you can do to help prevent ..knowledge is power :)
Emma really really suits the emerald green colour. Absolutely gorgeous. You can definitely see the Irish in her genes with that red hair too. Love it ❤
Sorry for the genetic test results. I've heard one doctor say, " Genetics loads the gun but diet and lifestyle pulls the trigger." At least now you're aware and can make adjustments for you and your kids, as well. I had to make changes like this 8 years ago and I'm doing very well, so far, at 66. . I wish you all the best. Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas. Love Emma's little tree. She's so cute! She looks like my own red headed girl when she was that age. She's in her 30s now with red heads of her own. Enjoy these first years, they pass fast.
Absolutely sending prayers for you and your family. I'm 70yrs old and dealing with high blood pressure, arrhythmia and high cholesterol. Saying that to say diet, exercise and keeping weight down are truly natural remedies that work better than medications. If I deviate, my blood pressure goes to stroke level. When I maintain, I don't even have to take the medicines. With you being so young and starting good habits, I feel confident you'll be okay for many decades to come.❤️
@Local Photographer Totally agree! Genetics play such a big role, of course diet and exercise are extremely important too! But sometimes medication is absolutely needed in addition to the natural steps!
Please do not say something works better than medication. My husbands auntie was physically fit and a healthy eater, she thought cutting medication would be better for her and she ended up having a severe stroke 2 years ago. To this day she can’t talk, she can’t understand what you say to her, she can’t walk and can’t move her right hand and she’s only 64 years old. Please be careful and always talk to your doctor.
There is also new information coming out comparing Blood Types & how some blood types cause a person to be @ increased risk for cardiovascular disease, etc....Interestingly, I have my dad's blood type & he had a significant MI @ age 48 in 1980....I too have hypertension, & already have Atrial fibrillation like he did & mostly mild plaque in my coronary arteries with 1 area of moderate plaque...I have no smoking or drinking history like he did, but I do have mild diabetes & carry extra weight which he did not have...Prayers 4 u Rachelle!
❤I love the idea of having a baby tree in each of the kids rooms. My parents did it and they also wrapped each of our gifts in “our wrapper” that we found under our mini tree Christmas morning! It was a great idea and probably easier for my parents than writing tags for each gift :)
Just knowing you have the gene will help you be better prepared. My mom has BC and so does her sister. She tested negative for the genetic test but we still started mammograms early to be safe.
I always think, if you're going to have something making you higher risk, the best thing is to know about it. It could be that knowing about it makes you eligible for regular tests on your heart so that issues can be picked up as soon as they appear, but I hope you can get some information from the geneticist that helps you out. We have a heart issue that runs in my family and requires valve replacements, and it killed both my dad's parents since their doctors didn't pick it up in time, but since they knew about it my dad and his brother were able to get their valves replaced before they caused an issue since the doctors could keep an eye out for it, and now my siblings and I know to mention it to doctors as we get older! Knowledge is power!
All of your children are so adorable and so sweet. Emma, I love your tree. You decorated it so beautifully! Of course, I will keep you in my prayers Rachelle. 🙏
I so agree, Emma is such a beautiful little girl with glorious hair, she shines like a star. The boys are so good with their speech & getting little characters adorable. Racheal you are a super mum so much patience with your lovely family 💕
Knowing early on really helps getting it under control before it becomes an issue. We found we have a serious heart issues in our family from me having a heart attack at 22 and having to get a defibrillator/pacemaker.
Please don’t take this wrong as all of your children are precious and adorable. Miss Emma is stunning. Her hair I would give anything to have. The older she gets the prettier she gets. Mom the boy’s need a tree too. Wishing you the best with your lab work and treatment. I am sure If you are diagnosed there is a wide range of things you can do. Lot’s of love and prayers your way.
My lp(a) is 141. It isn’t a gene in and of itself but a part of ldl cholesterol. There is very little dietary changes that can be done to change lp(a). I’m 30 and recently had a cardiac calcium ct just to see if I had any buildup because of my high lp(a) and genetic high cholesterol and it was 0 (which means no buildup). So just keep monitoring other things. There are new medicines in the works right now that I’m hopeful will get approved.
I highly suggest finding a lipid specialist as they’ll know more about this. My small town cardiologist had no idea what lp(a) was but the lipidologist helped a lot as they specialize in lipids and will know more about lp(a) than most doctors
I enjoy watching you and your beautiful family. Yes, I will pray for you concerning your test results. You and your children will be fine. You will be prayed for every day. God is good. Fear not. Have a wonderful Holiday Season!!
So sorry you didn't get good results Rachelle but you have the knowledge I'm sure because your family knows what to do, will keep all of you in our prayers and your right to find out early and be prepared, sending much love from lovely Ireland
Ok that dog oh my goodness what a sweetie! Like that made my day seeing him hug u like that leaning on ur neck it’s just amazing animals are so amazing!
I'll keep your family in my thoughts and prayers 🙏❤ sorry you are having to worry about this for your family. Hopefully when you see what they have to say you'll feel more at ease maybe your scores will be alot Lower sure will be praying this will come true 👍 🙏 😊 Amen 🙏
Rachelle, thank you for the update on your labs. I will be praying for you🙏. I hope that you can get your appointment soon as possible. Heart problems run on my mom's side of the family. I list an uncle to heart problems. I think he was no older than 55 years of age. I have hypertension, been medicating for around 5 yrs now. I love seeing the progression of you kids as they have grown up. They are adorable.😀
Sending love, now you know, you can make changes to keep yourself healthy and your kids too so yous can prevent it to the best of your ability, so sorry it wasnt the results you wanted but stleast you have the information now 🥰
Well after hearing the results of your test i realize i should probably schedule an appointment to see my cardiologist im in heart failure, not related to that gene, it's not known for sure what causes it. Its hard when you aren't feeling the symptoms to think you should follow up once a year.
I got that same tree from target when It was just me and my daughter living in a studio and she was about Emma’s age. I told my daughter “it’s Carmen size” ❤️
My kids need to be tested for a heart condition next month. I’m a little stressed about it, I just had a defibrillator pacemaker monitor put in a week ago.
I do understand it’s not the result you wanted but on the other hand it’s good you know now and I totally agree with your Mom 🙏🏼. Emma’s hair is looking so beautiful and the boys are as sweet as ever. Love the little tree 🎄 xxx
Darling little dinosaurs you having living with you!😏. Emma’s tree is beautiful. I bet she’ll want to fall asleep with the lights on 👌🏻👍🏻❤️. The boys would love one in their room too 😁. Prayers coming your way. 🙏🏻🫶🏻
I have that gene, got it from my father, My Cardiologist did alot of tests, scans, most important ANGIOGRAM!!!!!!!! They sent catheters up your arteries, to see how open they are. And put stents in when neccesary. I drink blood thinners, and cholesterol meds, for over 20 years now, I am 45 years old. And so far so good for me! My kids don't have the gene, only me!!
Praying for you sweetie, God works in so many ways and this is a way he his is showing you his work. I know what you're feeling and it is very scary to think that this could be passed to your babies, I have factor v Leiden and have had 2 pulmonary embolisms after having my children, I was diagnosed with this disorder while I was pregnant with my 2cd daughter I was 22 at the time, my little sister has down syndrome and her obgyn had her put on birth control not knowing what had happened to me and of course she also had a pulmonary embolism and after running tests we found out she also has the same disorder as I do. Our other sister decided to run these tests also and found out she also has the gene and the doctors told her that it doesn't skip generations. I'm 37 now and I waited till my youngest was 10 to get the tests for my daughters done, they do have the gene however there's a low possibility for them to have any embolisms. It is scary to think our children could get sick however it is also better to know and to be prepared. Like your disorder mine is controlled by doctors and medicine don't be afraid as I said before God knows what he's doing and all of this has been detected before anything terrible happened. God bless you and I know it's easier said but don't be afraid everything will be okay and everyone is praying for you 🙏❤️
Your Mom is right... Advanced awareness can make prevention easier... Be careful not to overdose on Asparin/Advil/ Alieve which are all blood thinners because as I dud when I was 33 years old had a Ruptured Brain Anyersm & the Neurologist said if I had have been on Blood thinners I would have bled our before surgery could gave been done ... Hugs & Blessings Always... GBY ALL 🙏❤️💙💖💙💙💖🧸🐕🤗❤️
Sending prayers for you Rachelle. I don't know if it would help, but there is a book called 'Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease', by cardiologist (heart dr), Dr Caldwell B Esselstyn, Jr MD. I believe it is very popular, and he has done a TED talk on youtube too.
Usually if it is passed down from generation to generation then the younger generation is at a more DECREASED risk of whatever it is vs what your risks are
The yellow one is a parasaurolophus lol I only know because my daughter has been obsessed with dinosaurs for 2.5 years, therefore I know them all as well 😂
Oh to look through the eyes of a child at Christmas. Your a great mom. Imagine a tree in your room as a child. Learn from Rachelle & Justin memories are so important for the little ones. Rachelle Dr Mercola on utube expresses his concern about baby aspirin . Saying prayers for you. Happy Thanksgiving 🍂🍁
Prayers for you of course!
I had genetic testing for brca1 gene which came back positive and it's always good to know to be proactive and keep up on all you can do to help prevent ..knowledge is power :)
Emma’s hair gets more and more beautiful everyday💜 I love how well the boys can identify the dinosaurs!

It's so amazing how fast that Emma is growing up!!
Stop letting numbers rule your life. You will give yourself anxiety and you will miss enjoying your life.

Sending prayers your way. So glad you now know that you're increased risk so you can hopefully discover some good preventative measures.
